Goody's Top 10: Packers 1st Round Busts

10. George Paskvan HB- Taken as the 7th overall pick in 1941 Paskvan only played in 7 games and rushed 38 times for 116 yards

9. Rich Moore DT- Taken as the 12th overall pick in 1969 and only played in 20 games in his only two seasons with the Packers.

8. Barry Smith WR- Taken as the 21st overall pick in 1973 Smith only lasted 3 seasons with the Packers and one with the Buccaneers. His best season was 1974 with the Packers, he had 20 REC for 294 YDS and 1 TD.

7. John Michels OT- Taken as the 27th overall pick in 1996 Michels never caught on. He started just 14 games in his two season with the Packers before they decided to move on.

6. Jerry Tagge QB- Taken as the 11th overall pick in 1972 Tagge only lasted 3 seasons with the Packers before Head Coach Bart Starr released him. Tagge threw 3 TDS and 17 INTS and had a starting record of 6-6 with the Packers.

5. Ahmad Carroll CB- Taken as the 25th overall pick in 2004 Carroll was picked on due to his tendoncey to draw flags. With that problem made him only last 2 1/2 seasons with the Packers and he only accumulated 3 INTS

4. Jamal Reynolds DE- Taken as the 10th overall pick in 2001 Reynolds has injuries and the emergance of Kabeer Gbaja Biamila were the cause of him being a Packer bust. In 3 season with the Packers he only played in 18 games starting none and only had 12 tackles and 3 sacks.

3. Stan Heath QB- Taken as the 5th overall pick in 1949 Although Heath was the first NCAA quarterback to throw for over 2,000 yards in a season Heath only lasted one season for the Packers passing for only 1 TD and throwing 14 INTS.

2. Rich Campbell QB- Taken as the 6th overall pick in 1981 Campbell completed only 31 out of 68 attempts and ended his stinky 4 year career with the Packers with 9 INTS and only 3 TDS

1. Tony Mandarich OT- Taken as the 2nd overall pick in 1989. Mandarich was the only player taken in the top 5 of the 89 draft not to be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. After not living up to his hype by any means the Packers had to cut him during the 1992 season due to a non football injury.

There it is my top 10 Packers bust in history to date so far. I know some of you might think not putting Justin Harrell on this list is a mistake and I just have to note that since he is still on the team there is still a chance he can wipe out the label of the bust, and yes I know that chances of that are slim to none therefore look for him on my future lists of the Packers Top 10 first round draft bust. Now comment below and let the debating begin!
