ST920 2016 NFL Predictions: NFL Playoffs

ST920 2016 NFL Predictions: AFC West

Oakland Raiders (10-6): This might finally be the year I've been waiting for the Raiders to turn things around and have a winning season for the first time in 2002. They have an easy schedule the first half of the season and need to get off to a hot start to get to the post season.

Denver Broncos (10-6): The division won't be as easy as it's been for them in the past few seasons, and their QB situation doesn't look good. That being said their defense is out for blood and will carry them to return to the post season in 2016.

Kansas City Chiefs (9-7): It was impressive when the Chiefs won 11 games straight after Charles was lost for the season. This year they can only hope to repeat that magic as they need to be on point to even have a punchers chance in this division.

San Diego Chargers (5-11): Well the years of the Chargers being contenders has come and gone, their roster isn't as talented as the rest of the division. Last year proved that they can not ride on the shoulders of the aging Rivers anymore.

ST920 2016 NFL Predictions: AFC South

Houston Texans (10-6): Now that the Texans have a halfway decent QB in Osweiler and a RB that hopefully can stay healthy, maybe now they will have an offense that can compliment their defense that has been carrying the team for years.

Indianapolis Colts (9-7): Andrew Luck may be healthy but he might continue to struggle a bit learning a new playbook. Besides that as we all know their division is not the cakewalk that it had been.

Jacksonville Jaguars (8-8): They Jaguars are going to be looked over this year. After Bortles had an awesome year in 2015, they hope that he and the rest of the young talent on both sides of the ball can mature and contend for a playoff spot.

Tennessee Titans (4-12): I don't think that the Titans are going to look as bad as their record will be, but they are not up to par with the other teams in their division plus they have some tough games at home this year too.

ST920 2016 NFL Predictions: AFC North

Pittsburgh Steelers (12-4): As banged up as they were last year and how tough their schedule was, it was amazing the Steelers won 10 games last season. So not a big deal the Bell will be suspended the first three games, all the Steelers will have to do is stay healthier than they did in 2015.

Baltimore Ravens (10-6): The Ravens will look to rebound after losing 20 players to injured reserve last year. Since Harbaugh has been the head coach they have only missed the postseason two times, I look for a healthier Ravens team to bounce back.

Cincinnati Bengals (10-6): We all know the Bengals can make it to the post season, but can Andy Dalton break through and actually give Marvin Lewis his first career playoff win?

Cleveland Browns (5-11): RGIII will look to get back to his rookie year form and Hue Jackson may be the right coach for the job, however this teams is a few years away from making big turnarounds.

ST920 2016 NFL Predictions: AFC East

New England Patriots (11-5): The Patriots will survive the suspension of Tom Brady and continue their dominance of the AFC East. Maybe it will create a QB controversy in 2017?

Buffalo Bills (9-7): They are looking to finally end that playoff drought and it looks like its coming soon, but as for this year they might stumble a bit during their 5 road games in a 7 game stretch, and barley miss the mark.

Miami Dolphins (8-8): Adam Gase is handed the keys to a talented roster that always seems to underachieve. With how he ran things in Chicago, I don't see too much changing with his new ball club.

New York Jets (7-9): Now that the Fitzpatrick issue finally got settled and barley missing the playoffs last year, the Jets and Fitzy put the chip all in for 2016. Too bad they are going to stumble out of the gate with the first 6 games looking to be very tough for them.

ST920 NASCAR Pick 'Em Standings after Bristol Night

1. Monson: 747pts 2 wins, 11 top fives, 16 top tens -7pts (#2,#19)
2. Lucas: 729pts 4 wins, 7 top fives, 14 top tens -18pts (#2,#14,#22,#48)
3. Anna: 717pts 2 wins, 8 top fives, 12 top tens -30pts (#20,#78)
4. Jimmie: 715pts 1 win, 6 top fives, 14 top tens -32pts (#18)
5. Big Al: 682pts 2 wins, 6 top fives, 12 top tens -65pts (#2,#18)
6. Goodsie: 680pts 2 wins, 8 top fives, 12 top tens -67pts (#2,#41)
7. Goody Sr: 657pts 2 wins, 6 top fives, 13 top tens -90pts (#4,#48)
8. Rudy: 649pts 2 wins, 5 top fives, 11 top tens -98pts (#4, #18)
9. Goody: 608pts 2 wins, 5 top fives, 9 top tens -139pts (#11,#20)
10. Dusty: 605pts 1 win, 5 top fives, 10 top tens -142pts (#18)
11. Fan Pick: 556pts 0 wins, 4 top fives, 8 top tens -191pts
12. Flo: 529pts 1 win, 3 top fives, 8 top tens -218pts (#19)

ST920 2016 NFL Predictions: NFC West

Arizona Cardinals (13-3): This roster is stacked. The Cardinals bring back their #1 ranked offense lead by Palmer and David Johnson. As far as the defense they made it even more potent by trading for Chandler Jones in the offseason.

Seattle Seahawks (11-5): So far in the preseason the offense is sputtering, however the Legion of Boom will carry this team into the playoffs in 2016.

San Francisco 49ers (6-10): Chip Kelly takes over a team that really lacks talent and has a tough division and schedule ahead. That being said, all he has to worry about is coaching the team and I think he fits this team better than in Philly. They won't struggle as bad as most expect.

Los Angeles Rams (4-12): A team that is going through multiple transitions, from a new city to a new rookie QB, this team won't be coming to LA with the typical Jeff Fischer 7-9 team.

ST920 2016 NFL Predictions: NFC South

Carolina Panthers (11-5): The Panthers won't repeat the regular season success that they had last year. Their offense will get a boost with Benjamin returning however their defense may take a step back after losing Norman during the offseason.

Atlanta Falcons (8-8): Dan Quinn will look to repeat what he did with the team in the first half of the year last season before their 2-7 collapse in the 2nd half. I don't see that happening but this young and upcoming team will be more consistent.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-9): Jameis Winston looks to be just what the Buccs were looking for. The Buccs look to go the way the Falcons are going and they hope to show that they will contend for the division in years to come.

New Orleans Saints (6-10): Even though the Saints offensively are still strong, there defense is god awful. The Saints are in rebuild mode and it's about time they move on from Drew Brees and look to the future.

ST920 2016 NFL Predictions: NFC North

Green Bay Packers (12-4): With the addition of Cook and getting Nelson back, the Pack's offense looks to be back to vintage form. On the other side of the ball the defense looks to have a lot of depth and was a saving grace for them last season.

Minnesota Vikings (10-6): The Vikings are still a very good and young team. Zimmer looks to keep their defense tough and as for the offense Bridgewater will continue to have to manage to offense and hand the rock to Adrian Beat-a-son.

Chicago Bears (8-8): Chicago wants their defense looks to return to the Monster of the Midway to return after going to a 3-4 defense last year, and I believe they will improve. However what will hold them back is going to be the offensive side of the ball.

Detroit Lions (6-10): They were one of the hottest teams in the league in the 2nd half of the season last year, but now without Calvin Johnson, I find it hard that they can build off of that momentum.

ST920 2016 NFL Predictions: NFC East

New York Giants (10-6): The offense looks to continue where is left off from last year, and the Giants spent most of their draft beefing up a defense that cost them a ton of games.

Dallas Cowboys (9-7): The Cowboys hope their offense returns to 2014 form now that Romo is back and the addition of Ezekiel Elliott. The weakness of this team is going to be their defense and the early suspensions.

Washington Redskins (7-9): The 'Skins won't be sneaking up on anyone this season, and they have a tougher road this season. They did add Josh Norman in the off-season, but it won't be enough to improve their weak defense.

Philadelphia Eagles (3-13): Hitting the reset button is not what Eagles fans wanted but it's what's happening. Facing the tough AFC and NFC North won't help the matter either.

Goody's Top 5 Brett Favre Moments

In honor of Brett Favre being inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame this weekend, this is a list of Goody's top 5 favorite Favre moments. Warning, if you know Goody and his feelings of Favre during his career, this list may have some less than story book moments in them.

5. Favre's Halloween TD Scamper 1994: This one is memorable for many reasons. The throwback uniforms, the muddy conditions and it was the first time I was able to stay up and watch a complete Monday Night Football game! In this game where it was difficult to complete a simple 5 yard pass it may seem impossible for a quarterback to have a memorable moment. However Favre had a 36 yd TD scamper that seemed like it took forever, en route to the Packers 33-6 win over the Bears and the Chicago dominator was born.

4. Favre's 2007 Season: There was just so much from that season to break it down to just one moment. In a year where the Packers were suppose to be mediocre at best, we got treated to a 13-3 season and one filled with great Favre moments. From passing Marino's TD record vs. the Vikings to vintage Favre like moments with overtime walkoff TDs and Favre playing like a kid in the snow vs. the Seahawks in the Divisional playoff matchup. We got a treat in Favre's last season in a Packers uniform, if it was his last season in his career this would of been a lot higher on the list.

3. Favre's 09 NFC Championship Game: Love him or hate him, pulling for him or not, the 2009 NFC Championship was a memorable game in Favre's career. Trying to be the first QB to lead 2 teams to Super Bowl wins and stick it to Ted Thompson in the process. Favre was looking to end his career in a story book fashion, what little did he know never go to the dark side. I fully admit seeing him in purple only fueled the hate that I had for him after the summer of 08, and seeing him getting knocked around the entire game brought be great joy. The way it ended with him throwing a pick trying to lead a game winning drive was priceless. As far as him sticking it to Ted.... Favre got to the NFC Championship and swept the Packers in 09, only to be swept by the Packers the next year and see Thompson and Rodgers hold up the Lombardi Trophy at seasons end.

2. Favre leads Packers to a Super Bowl XXXI win: Desmond Howard may have been Super Bowl XXXI MVP, but in my eyes Favre did the dirty work. My favorite moment of the game was Favre's early audible and touchdown strike to Andre Rison, and afterwards Favre running towards the sideline with his helmet raised. It was then I knew the Packers were going to win this game. Seeing the Packers bring home the Lombardi home for the first time in almost 30 years was the sweetest thing too, and being only 11 at the time I didn't have to suffer through the 70s and 80s like my parents had to. Our generation had Favre.

1. Favre sours Packers to the Playoffs 1994: Going into the game the Packers were 7-7 and trying to keep their playoffs hopes alive. It was also the last game they would play at County Stadium in Milwaukee. On the final drive of the game the Packers were trailing the Falcons 14-17 when Favre scrambled for a 9-yard touchdown with 14 seconds left Sunday, giving the Packers a 21-17 victory, Besides that being such a legendary moment it was special to me because it was the last time I watched a Packers game with my Grandpa before he passed away a few months later.
