Goody's 2013 NFL Predictions: NFC West
1. Seattle Seahawks (12-4): This team is the closest thing to a complete team in the NFL. On the offense they have a solid QB, powerful RBs, a good WR corp and offensive line. On the other side of the ball, as we seen last season, their defense has the power to shut down any high powered offense in the league.
2. San Francisco 49ers (11-5): The 49ers are also pretty close to be a complete team. Kaepernick now has game tape for their opponents to view, I don't see him emulating the same success as he did last year. Their front 7 on defense is one of the scariest in the NFL, but their secondary has a few question marks.
3. St. Louis Rams (7-9): The Rams are looking to improve from last year after going 4-1-1 in their division and still ending up with a losing record. Bradford has to throw more than just 21 TD passes if they expect to excel in this tough division, I will give it at least one more year before this team returns to the post season.
4. Arizona Cardinals (5-11): Bruce Arians will find out quickly that he doesn't have an Andrew Luck caliber QB under center. Carson Palmer is a washed up diva who will be okay but when they need him to make a drive and win a game, expect a turnover.

Goody's 2013 NFL Predictions: NFC South
1. Atlanta Falcons (12-4): Tony Gonzalez came back for one reason, a Super Bowl run, and this team can certainly do it. The addition of Steven Jackson should shed some of the opposing defenses concentration off of the great receiving duo of Roddy White and Julio Jones.
2. New Orleans Saints (9-7): With the return of head coach Sean Payton returning after his year long suspension last year, this team should rebound. The Saints will have on the more potent offenses in the league as usual, the only worry I would have is that with DC Rob Ryan, their bad defense won't improve this year holding them back from making the post season.
3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-9): Josh Freeman has the talent but can he be consistent? This team has the talent on both sides of the ball, but as we seen last year, can they get in sync? The addition of Darrelle Revis might be a sign that they are moving in the right directions.
4. Carolina Panthers (6-10): I might be the only one on the planet that isn't very impressed with the skills of Cam Newton. I will agree he is a good runner, but the rest of his QB skills are just average. On the defensive side of the ball the Panthers ignored to improve the weak secondary, I don't see any improvement for this team in 2013.

Goody's 2013 NFL Predictions: NFC North
1. Green Bay Packers (11-5): It looks as though the Packers are ready to run the ball more than they have in recent years which should help an offensive line that has a lot of question marks going into the season. The Packers also look to get a little more heat of the QB themselves after drafting Jones in the 1st round.
2. Minnesota Vikings (8-8): The only thing that will hold this team back in 2013 is Christian Ponder. Peterson is Peterson, and drafting Patterson and signing Jennings are huge additions to this offense. This defense will need to generate more turnovers if they want to emulate the success that they had last year.
3. Chicago Bears (7-9): The Bears, as usual, will sink or swim with Jay Cutler and I think his track record speaks for itself. If the Bears do get over that 7 win mark that will mean that they magically figured out how to protect their QB.
4. Detroit Lions (6-10): We all know the Lions have an high powered offense, the addition of Reggie Bush should only make them stronger. Stafford will have to limit his mistakes to make sure the offense operates smoothly which I don't know he's capable of. Losing Fairly on the defensive front loses depth in the only admirable part of this defense.

Goody's 2013 NFL Predictions: NFC East
1. Dallas Cowboys (10-6): Call me crazy but I think Tony Romo will have a big year this year. If his skill position players in Austin, Bryant, and Murray stay healthy, look for this offense to put up a lot of points. On the other side of the ball this defense should just improve by getting DC Rob Ryan out and bringing Monte Kiffin in.
2. New York Giants (9-7): The Giants will always be in the playoff hunt as long at Eli Manning is their QB. The biggest thing that may make them miss the playoffs for the second season in a row will be if they improved their defensive line enough to mask a secondary that is prone to being exposed.
3. Washington Redskins (8-8): Operation Patience is in full swing, but will it last? I see RGIII being a better throwing Michael Vick....but that also means time off due to injury. Their defense should improve with Orakpo back but the secondary is still too questionable.
4. Philadelphia Eagles (6-10): It will be interesting to see how HC Chip Kelly does going into his first season. He was a offense built perfectly for Michael Vick, but to bad for Chip it will more that likely end with him on the injury list. The defense's move from a 4-3 to a 3-4 isn't going smoothly and will probably struggle all season.

Goody's 2013 NFL Predictions: AFC West
1. Denver Broncos (11-5): Peyton Manning will be firing on all cylinders from the get go in his second season with the Broncos. The addition of Wes Welker should make their receiving corps even stronger as well. The suspension of Von Miller for the first 6 games might create some hiccups for them.
3. Oakland Raiders (5-11): The Raiders had to purge a lot of talent in order to stay under the cap, which will greatly slow the progress of Dennis Allen's Oakland Raiders. It will be nice to see Charles Woodson back in a Raider uniform but his leadership won't be enough to make this team a winner in 2013.
4. San Diego Chargers (5-11): Well, the team that once many found talented is now showing their true colors. They are having trouble protecting Rivers and as we have seen can be disastrous and Matthews is not living up to expectations. I see a roster purge for this team in the very near future.
Goody's 2013 NFL Predictions: AFC South
1. Indianapolis Colts (10-6): This team won't be taking anybody by surprise this year. With that being said Andrew Luck can lead this offense to their first division title since Peyton Manning lead the team back in 2010. If this team wants to go anywhere in the playoffs they will need to be able to stop the run, which was very difficult for them last year.
2. Houston Texans (10-6): Even though the Texans have Foster and Johnson, they will have to remain healthy because I just to fully trust Matt Schaub. They also can't rely on a gravy schedule that they had last year to get them on a 5-0 start, this year will be more of a battle to get into the playoffs.
3. Tennessee Titans (6-10): With a defense that allowed the most points last season, this team needs Jake Locker to be consistent and healthy and will need Chris Johnson to be a play maker if they plan on making my prediction of 6 wins wrong.
4. Jacksonville Jaguars (3-13): I think this the the final year of the Blaine Gabbert expirement, and as you can see, I don't think that will go well. Gus Bradley will have to wait until next offseason to start grooming the roster into one that will suit him better.

Goody's 2013 NFL Predictions: AFC North
1. Pittsburgh Steelers: (11-5): Dead and gone? I don't think so! Even though there are some question of this offense, with Big Ben and the #1 defense from last year, anything can happen. The Steelers will be extra motivated after missing the playoffs a year ago.
2. Baltimore Ravens (10-6): The Ravens will have the tall order of defending their Super Bowl title of last season. In a tough division, and a team missing some veteran leadership on both sides of the ball from last year it will be an uphill battle for the Ravens.
3. Cincinnati Bengals (9-7): Making the playoffs for the 3 straight season will be their goal this year. With a talented roster that wants to compete for the division, a tough schedule will have this team fighting for a Wild Card spot.
4. Cleveland Browns (6-10): A new coaching staff will look to mold this young roster, and Brandon Weeden starting QB again this season will give this team some consistency that it really needs.
2. Baltimore Ravens (10-6): The Ravens will have the tall order of defending their Super Bowl title of last season. In a tough division, and a team missing some veteran leadership on both sides of the ball from last year it will be an uphill battle for the Ravens.

Goody's 2013 NFL Predictions: AFC East
1. New England Patriots (10-6): The Patriots roster is a bit thinner than it has been in recent years but as long as Tom Brady stays healthy and this defense keeps creating turnovers they should have no problem winning their 5th straight division title.
2. Miami Dolphins (8-8): Adding Mike Wallace should add some punch to this up and coming team, however with the loss of Jake Long, the coming will have to wait for the 2014 season.
3. Buffalo Bills (6-10): With rookie QB EJ Manuel looking to be molded with this young and talented offense this team should be ready for playoff contention in 2014, however need to go through growing pains this year.
4. New York Jets (3-13): This team is still to much of a mess. Sanchez is terrible and frankly I still don't think that Geno Smith can be an NFL QB. Even if these quarterbacks do play at a somewhat NFL caliber, with Sanatonio Holmes out for who knows how long, they don't have anyone to throw to.
