NASCAR Mt. Rushmore

Bill France Sr.: France was the founder of NASCAR and ran it until the 1970's. He brought many big things to NASCAR and motorsports in general. In 1956 broke ground on Daytona International Speedway and later in 1969 he built a sister track in Talladega Superspeedway. He built the International Motorsports Hall of Fame and was inducted in their first class in 1990, and made the inaugural class in the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2010.

Richard Petty: The King raced in the sport for 34 years. During that time he set many records that will probably never be matched. Some of which include 7 championships, 200 wins, 123 poles, won 10 consecutive races in a season, and once won 27 races in a single season. He was named one of NASCAR's 50 greatest drivers in 1998 and was inducted into the inaugural class of the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2010.

Dale Earnhardt: The Intimidator was loved and hated for his aggressive driving style. He was named the rookie of the year in 1979 and was the only driver in NASCAR history to win a championship in his sophomore season in 1980. Along with Petty he was a 7 time NASCAR champion, he won the IROC Championship 4 times. Earnhardt was, like France and Petty, named to the inaugural class of the NASCAR Hall of Fame, he was named one of NASCAR's 50 greatest drivers in 1998.

Jimmie Johnson: The driver known as "Five Time" is on my NASCAR Mt. Rushmore to represent the current era of "The Chase." His five championships came in a NASCAR record 5 straight years, spanning from 2006-2010. Other credentials Johnson has in his relatively young career is 63 wins, and is the only driver ever to win NASCAR All Star race 4 times. Since he began running full time in 2002 he has only finished outside the top 5 in the point standings once, and that was in 2011 when he finished 6th.
