Goody's 2015 NFL Predictions: AFC West

Denver Broncos (10-6): Peyton Manning is not the QB he used to be, and it might show now more than ever on the field. Kubiak is going to try to take some of the pressure off of Manning by running the ball a bit more. Also when it counts to make a playoff push, they may also have to rely on their very talented defense.

San Diego Chargers (10-6): The Chargers now don't have to worry about what they are doing for their QB in the near future. They locked in Phillip Rivers, who don't forget, was in the MVP race for much of the first half of the season. Melvin Gordon should help boost their running game and take some pressure of off Rivers.

Kansas City Chiefs (9-7): A lot of the Chiefs success will hinge on the health of Jamaal Charles. Don't forget Smith will now have an actual decent to throw to this year in Maclin. They however are still just a step or two behind the Chargers and the Broncos to get back into the playoffs.

Oakland Raiders (6-10): Hiring Jack Del Rio and dumping a lot of dead cap weight, I feel more confident now more than ever that this team is moving in the correct direction. Don't forget the young, talented defense will now be lead by Ken Norton Jr. Amari Cooper will be a great target for Derrick Carr for years to come. However as of right now their division is too tough for their record to show for it.

Goody's 2015 NFL Predictions: AFC South

Indianapolis Colts (12-4): There is no challenge for the Colts coming from the AFC South, so they will have smooth sailing to win their division. The addition to some key veterans might be enough to get them past the Patriots in the postseason, that is, if they remain healthy with enough left in the tank.

Houston Texans (7-9): Their defense, with Clowney healthy, could be better than ever. Yet on the offensive side of the ball things don't look any better than last season. Hoyer, although not the worst QB in all of football, isn't going to turn anything around. They might of been okay if Foster was healthy for the first half of the season.

Jacksonville Jaguars (6-10): Julius Thomas might give the Jaguars a bit of a spark on offense. They have a young talented group of players but they aren't ready to make a huge spike in total victories quite yet.

Tennessee Titans (5-11): Can Marcus Mariota be the franchise QB that the Titans are looking for? Time will tell... however they made some key additions during free agency and the draft that could slowly bring them back into relevance.

Goody's 2015 NFL Predictions: AFC North

Cincinnati Bengals (10-6): Well not much to say about the Bengals here, they will be a solid regular season team. Andy Dalton will be mediocre, solid enough to get them to their 5th straight post season birth. The real question is can they finally break through and actually win a playoff game.

Baltimore Ravens (9-7): The Ravens are going to have a bit of a tough go of it this season. They are going through their 4th offensive coordinator in as many season, lost Smith and Daniels on offense and Ngata on defense. They seemed to have added some good additions to fill those shoes but starting 5 of the first 7 games on the road they would will have a tough time getting in sync.

Pittsburgh Steelers (9-7): The Steel Curtain is looking for some new leaders. You know its pretty thin when Ethan Hemer might make the roster this season, in spite of being their 2nd choice for DE on their practice squad last season. Them having the toughest schedule in the NFL and the suspension of Bell will make it tough for the Steelers to return to the playoffs.

Cleveland Browns (6-10): Cleveland did good in the draft focusing on big guys on the offensive and defensive front. They will get off on a hot start due to their easy schedule however with McCown and/ or Manzel as their QB's it will make their 2nd half of the season a nightmare.

Goody's 2015 NFL Predictions: AFC East

New England Patriots (11-5): My prediction is largely based that Brady will serve some sort of suspension. Also the Patriots did lose a ton of talent on the defensive side, and history shows the Patriots win Super Bowls with stout defenses. Now they may not be a super team but they still have what it takes to win the AFC East....for at least one more year.

Buffalo Bills (10-6): The Bills just missed a Wild Card spot a season ago, this could be a year they finally get back into the playoffs. Rex Ryan will keep their defense on point to what it was a year ago and they did add some offensive weapons in McCoy and Harvin. The only problem is will Tyrod Taylor really be the best answer for them at QB to be a competitive playoff team? Seems like this team is built very similar to Rex Ryan's 09-10 teams.

Miami Dolphins (10-6): I like what the Dolphins did to improve this season. From getting Suh to vamp up the defense to adding Stills and Cameron to boost their passing game all while purging the cancer that was Mike Wallace. The Dolphins do have a easy go of it the first 7 games of the season and that will keep them in a dogfight with the Bills for a Wild Card spot.

New York Jets (6-10): The Jets are making strides that should improve this team in years to come. However there is just too many question marks at QB for me to think this team is ready for a turnaround right now. They still have a good enough defense that should keep them in some games but Fitzpatrick isn't necessarily at scoring machine.

Goody's 2015 NFL Predictions: NFC West

Seattle Seahawks (12-4): Don't expect a Super Bowl loss hangover carrying over this team for the 2015 season. With that said they may start out the season a BIT rusty, with the game vs. the Packers in week 2 settling who has home field advantage in the NFC. I think the Packers take that match up but when the Hawks get into the playoffs they will be primed for a 3rd straight Super Bowl appearance.

Arizona Cardinals (9-7): There may not be that dominate start to the season like they had last season, but the Cards are looking to stay healthy this years. Overall they will be more consistent but won't improve record wise. They will feel a bit of a hole on defense without their leader Todd Bowles.

St Louis Rams (8-8): The addition of Nick Foles only means one things for Rams fans, they will more and likely have a mediocre QB the entire season. I don't see Foles having as good of years as he did in Philly but they do have a good enough defense to keep games close. Jeff Fisher, in my mind, is one of the most overrated coaches in NFL history and the Rams figure that out after this season when they once again fail to fully break through.

San Francisco 49ers (3-13): The 49ers had a terrible offseason, and it seemed self induced by the front office. They are basically hitting the reset button and looking to rebuild. It looks like they will have to start rebuilding after this year, with a tough division, playing the AFC and NFC North this season....It's going to be a long one for them.

Goody's 2015 NFL Predictions: NFC South

New Orleans Saints (10-6): After dealing Jimmy Graham to the Seahawks, are the Saints doomed? Well not really, I don't see them being a stellar playoff team the fact of the matter is they are still in one of the weakest divisions in all of the NFL. They don't lose as many games at home this year and with a easy schedule, record wise, this team "bounces back"

Atlanta Falcons (7-9): The Falcons have a new sheriff in town, Dan Quinn. He looks to improve the defense, and did so in this years draft with guys like LB Vic Beasley. It may take a few years for the rookies to take hold and Quinn to get the defense the way he wants it, but I think the Falcons are a team on the rise just give it a few years.

Carolina Panthers (6-10): There was a lot of optimism going into this season after a strong December last season propelling them into the postseason despite finishing 7-8-1. Well now the team is scrambling after losing WR Kelvin Benjamin for the season and the hold out of LB Luke Kuechly, this team will once again struggle.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-11):  The Buccs, with 1st overall pick Winston, look to bounce back after a dismal 2014 season. They will look like a better team than last season however with them playing a big chunk of road games to start the season, they will get off on the wrong foot and Winston isn't that NFL ready to bounce this team around overnight.

Goody's 2015 NFL Prediction: NFC North

Green Bay Packers (13-3): For the Packers to get off to a hot start on the season a lot hinges on how well their two rookie corners quickly adapt to the NFL, depth of defense will be thin early with a couple of suspensions early in the year. However the Packers look to have on the top offenses not only for 2015, but maybe of all time.

Minnesota Vikings (9-7): Peterson returning will take a ton of pressure of 2nd year QB Bridgwater, and with the addition of WR Mike Wallace, this offense could be a little scary. Mike Zimmer has drafted well on defense in year 2 and this Vikings team will battle the Packers for NFC North titles for years to come.

Detroit Lions (7-9): The Lions won a lot of close games last season that boosted them to the post season last year. With the loss of Suh this defense will have a season of regression, and will be unable to win those close games this time around.

Chicago Bears (6-10): The Bears defense looks totally different as far as personnel is concerned which can only mean good things for them. With Cutler still under center, Kevin White likely out for the season, and the loss of Brandon Marshall, the offense will sputter a bit this season.

Goody's 2015 NFL Predictions: NFC East

Philadelphia Eagle (10-6): It's had to predict how the Eagles will do this season, we haven't seen this many crazy offseason moves since...well Pete Carroll in Seattle back in 2012. Now that Chip Kelly is closer to getting the team where he wants it, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that the Eagles will still be contenders for the NFC East.

Dallas Cowboys (9-7): With the loss of Murray the Cowboys are now relying on the often injured Darren McFadden at RB and if they ask half of what they did out of Murray last year, McFadden will leave the field on a cart. With Hardy and McClain out early in the season the Cowboys get off on the wrong foot this season.

New York Giants (7-9): I might be the only one who thinks Beckham Jr. will tapper off a bit from all the hype he has gotten last season. Eli wants top money but doesn't prove it when he's under pressure and there are still a few question marks about their offensive line to propel them into the playoffs.

Washington Redskins (4-12): RGIII has been handed the starting spot right out of the gate even though it has been undeserved. Until Jay Gruden is allowed to run to run his offense the way he wants to, the Redskins will continue to be a crappy circus.
