2010 NASCAR Saturday Night Special- Larry Pearson's near fatal accident

Larry Pearson, 56, was knocked unconscious and suffered a compound fracture of his left ankle, a fractured pelvis and a fractured right hand. The speedway reported he was in fair condition Monday before being released from Bristol Regional Medical Center late Monday afternoon and transported to Charlotte, where he was to be admitted to Carolinas Medical Center, obviously with a long recovery ahead of him.

Charlie Glotzbach, 71, managed, with help, to walk to an ambulance after the accident. He was gingerly holding his left arm and wearing an oxygen mask. But he was so beat up in the wreck that he remained hospitalized at the Bristol hospital Monday, two days after the accident, though reportedly in good condition.

Edwards put the Ball in NASCAR's Court.

Before the start of the 2010 season NASCAR came out and said they were going to let the drivers express their own personalities and let the drivers work out on track issues amoung themselves. The incident between Carl Edwards and Brad Keslowski was not what they had in mind. I know what some of you are thinking, NASCAR set themselves up for this and it's their fault that the car flip and not Edwards. I agree with that to a point but NASCAR took action to prevent the cars from fliping by removing the wing and replacing it with the spoiler. Another thing by putting the "policing" in the drivers hands you would have to think they thought they had drivers that were smarter than Mr. Edwards.

First of all the incident that happend earlier in the race when Carl Edwards came down across Brad Keslowski's front bumper shooting him across the track and into the wall with Joey Lagano was entirely Edwards fault. If you look close at the replay you can see that Edwards failed to hold his own line and Keslowski backed off as much as he could because he didn't want to end up getting run over by Bobby Labonte due to a mistake that Edwards made. Yeah Carl I know its frustrating not winning a race in over a year, but face it both run ins with Keslowski were due to the fact that YOU didn't give HIM enough room, not the other way around.

If the first incident even was Keslowski's fault there are a lot better ways to police it. You can come up and confront him after the race and threaten to kick his ass, you have big enough guns to beat up the scrawny Keslowski. Another way is to drive up to him under a caution hit one of his fenders and wreck Keslowski's shot at running up front, again another chicken way to do things but still better to what was done. Even while running besides him today if Edwards washed up the track forcing Keslowski to hit the was, again ruining his shot at a top ten run. Or my favorite wait when Edwards would actually be racing with Keslowski for position at a short track where they will be going half the speeds and take him out then. At leas then it would seem less obvious and probably prevent Edwards a trip to the NASCAR hauler after the race. To me it just doesn't seem right spining a guy out when you are 150 laps down and do it on the fastest part of the track.

I feel that the only way to teach the drivers to police themselves but not act like apes when they do it is by suspending Carl Edwards for at least one race. I all for NASCAR letting the drivers show there emotion but when that is your reaction after sitting behind the wall for more than an hour after the first incident I think you really need to get your head checked out Mr. Edwards. I know you didn't mean for Keslowski to flip and I'm sure my anger over the situation is due to the severity of the wreck but really what do you think just might happen when you turn a guy going speed around 200 mph. Carl Edwards your reaction warrants you not only being a dud on this weeks show, you also deserve an EPIC FAIL!

McNabb or McFlabb?

As the NFL Free Agent singing period getting closer, there are many rumors going around. One of those rumors say that the Philadelphia Eagles have long time quarterback Donovan McNabb on the trading block. While there are a lot of Eagles fans who think his run is done, there are aslo a lot of people who appricate the accomplishments that McNabb has had with the Eagles and would like him to stick around for a few more years.

Since my team (Green Bay Packers) are just a couple of years removed from a simular situation, my opinion is that it is about time that the Eagles part ways with good ol #5. I do think that he is a good quarterback yet, but I feel Donovan is stuck in what I would call "bad habits in big games" and maybe the best thing for both the Eagles and McNabb is for them to split up.

One main thing that bothers me about McNabbs play as of late is that there are times he doesn't seem to take the game as serious as he should. Take the 2009 NFC Wildcard game against the Dallas Cowboys, when he walke out of the tunnel at Cowboys Stadium doing the air guitar dance and beating on the plexi glass wall. What was that about?! Don't for get about the overtime game against the lowly Bengals when he "forgot" the overtime rules and the fact that 1. he didn't try his hardest and 2. he didn't seem to be bothered or concerned that he didn't know the rules, like he didn't even give a damn.

It also seems that ever since Jason spoke of this on the show it seems that every other pass McNabb throws it fall in the dirt way short of his intended target. And like I said out of the 6 Pro Bowls that he has played in he has only been elected to two of them.

Although this may seem like a rant on how I think McNabb is crappy. Untrue, I think that he has always been and still is a very good quarterback. I just think that if McNabb goes to a teams like the Rams, Vikings (if Favre retires), Bills, or even the Raiders, his habits that he in known for, would be better for those teams than the alternative of not having a quarterback of his calibur, than if he performed the same way with the Eagles. McNabb has reached long past his peak in Philly, but hey you never know, he could be like Favre and with a fresh scenery have one of the better years for his career. Plus the Eagles know that they can still with a still learing Kevin Kolb. That is why I think the Eagles should cut the McFlabb and trade McNabb
